Holly J. Niles, RNCP, RHN, RYT
General Manager
Having worked in the alternative healthcare industry for over 25 years, Holly strongly believes in the body's ability to heal itself when given the right tools. She is a Power Pilates Certified Teacher, Registered Holistic Nutritionist, Certified Professional Level Kripalu Yoga Instructor and Mentor, and a Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapist. Before joining APOGEE, Holly held positions of vice president/general manager of Power Pilates and director of Hollyoga Healthworks.
Myong
APOGEE Cafe by Myong
The creative force behind APOGEE’s fresh, healthy food is Myong, owner of Myong Private Label Gourmet in Mount Kisco, NY. Myong, who was born in Korea and moved to the U.S. at age 16, has roots in Korean cuisine as well as a background in Pan-Asian and traditional European cooking and has studied under Chef Don Luginbuhl, a Culinary Institute of America graduate. She has taught a select few in cooking and tasting classes. But her menu is a credit to her customers as well. “We didn’t start out to be a ‘healthy’ gourmet store,” says Myong. “It happened because of the way my customers like to eat, the things they tell me they like or don’t like, and the way I have always been preparing food.” Myong’s commitment to providing delicious, healthy café offerings is a key ingredient in APOGEE’s recipe for integrated living.
Lesly Levy
Director of Pilates and Pilates Programming
The former owner of Mindful Moves Pilates Center in Westchester, NY, Lesly is a Senior-Level Teacher Trainer for Power Pilates, helping to certify and educate classical Pilates instructors locally and nationally. Lesly has been involved in the fitness industry for more than 17 years and holds four Pilates certifications: Physicalmind Institute, Pilates Method Alliance (Gold Certified), Power Pilates and Power Pilates Teacher Trainer. Selected as “one of the best Pilates instructors” by Westchester magazine in 2004, Lesly also has a vast knowledge of injuries, injury prevention and kinesiology. Lesly believes that the best teachers are those who never stop learning, and so maintains her studies with both Bob Liekens and Susan Moran-Perich from Power Pilates as well as renowned anatomist Irene Dowd. While directing the Pilates Program here at APOGEE, Lesly will continue to work with her long-standing local clientele as well as teaching certifications and workshops in New York and internationally. Lesly is an avid skier, wife and mother of two.
Jane Nielsen
Fitness Manager
Jane Nielsen has been involved with health and personal fitness for the past 15 years. She came to Women for Fitness in 2002 and has been with Apogee since September, 2008, after an extensive experience at Mount Kisco Athletic Club and Quest, a private training studio in Armonk, NY. At Mount Kisco Athletic Club, she was responsible for bringing Spinning into the facility which developed into the clubs most successful group exercise program. Jane has earned certifications in Personal Training, Spinning and Advanced Reebok Cycling. Jane’s clients range from Junior Olympic figure skaters, competitive cyclists and other athletes to women reaching their post pregnancy or personal fitness goals. Jane believes that fitness is a part of overall health and happiness.
Lisa Madara
Manager, APOGEE Bedford Hills
Lisa Madara has been involved with fitness for her entire career. A native of Teaneck, N.J., Lisa has a deep passion for helping people make healthy changes in their lives. As manager of APOGEE Bedford Hills, Lisa brings more than 20 years of knowledge and experience to the company. Previously, Lisa was a general manager at New York Sports Club and a sales manager at Gold’s Gym. Lisa is also a certified Les Mills RPM cycling instructor.
Cathy Decker
Manager, APOGEE White Plains
Cathy has been working in management positions in the holistic health field for 15 years. She has a performing arts background and has always integrated her holistic beliefs with movement and performance. For ten years, Cathy was a manager at Angelica Kitchen, a long-standing organic-vegan restaurant in Manhattan. During this time, she was a devoted student of ashtanga yoga and was introduced to Pilates. Cathy strongly believes that the connection of body, mind and spirit leads to complete wellness.
Melanie Danza
Programming Specialist
Melanie Danza is Pilates instructor who has helped women of all ages reach optimal physical fitness and well-being for more than 25 years. She trained to teach Pilates through Romana Kryzanowska, one of Joseph Pilates' earliest protégés, and she founded Women For Fitness, a full-service health club for women, in 1996. Prior to dedicating herself to the Pilates method, Melanie taught numerous exercise modalities and was one of the original members of the National Step Reebok Training Team. She has also counseled women on the importance of exercise at NYU Medical Center's Women's Wellness Program in New York. Melanie has a particular interest in lifelong exercisers like herself. Her passion is to instill in this group the idea that as you age, doing Pilates cannot simply improve your fitness but actually transform your body.
Jennifer Vagios, MS, RD
Dietitian
Jennifer Vagios, MS, RD, is a Registered Dietitian with a contagious passion for healthy living. A Westchester native, Jennifer earned a BS in Foods and Nutrition from Marymount College and a MS in Applied Physiology and Nutrition from Teacher's College Columbia University. She has a Certificate in Adult Obesity and Weight Management and is president-elect of the Westchester Rockland Dietetic Association. Jennifer has worked as a clinical dietitian at several New York-area hospitals and wellness centers providing nutrition counseling and education to a wide range of clients. "My approach is very individualistic," says Jennifer. "I don't put people on diets. I give them tools they can use for the rest of their lives."
Staci Rosenberg, LMSW, CEC
Life Coach
Staci Rosenberg, LMSW, CEC, has been practicing as a life coach and psychotherapist since 1997 and has worked with a wide variety of clientele, from early childhood to the elderly, in outpatient psychiatry and private practice both in Westchester and Bronx counties. Staci formed Live a Life by Design, LLC in 2007 and is a certified Life Coach and a member of the International Coaching Federation. She received her Masters Degree in Social Work from Fordham University and is a professional member of the National Association for Social Workers in the State of New York. “My mission," says Staci, "is for everyone to create the life that they desire through thoughtful methodical introspection and a well-designed roadmap to become the best version of themselves.”
